Mr. Jindal is a member of the Lok Sabha, from Kurukshetra Constituency. He has been associated with politics and specifically politics in Haryana for 12 long years.

Mr. Jindal is the Executive Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Jindal Steel & Power Limited, which is the most efficiently run steel company in the world. The company is a part of the over Rs. 10,000 crore Jindal Organisation. The company has the world's largest coal-based sponge iron capacity and has established a Rail & Universal Beam Mill, which is manufacturing world's longest 120 metre rails and parallel flange beams & columns in larger sizes for the first time in India. At the age of 34, Mr. Jindal has transformed Jindal Steel & Power Limited, a moderately performing company in the steel sector into a star performer.

Mr. Jindal is also the Director of Jindal Power Ltd., which is planning a 1,000 MW power plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The project would supply the cheapest power as compared to any IPP in the country. Jindal Steel & Power Limited was nominated as one of the Emerging Companies of the Year 2001 by The Economic Times, and as the top 20-investor friendly companies in the Year 2004 by Business Today, which is a validation of the confidence that the business world has in Mr. Jindal's leadership of the company.

Mr. Jindal has also been a crusader. He single-handedly took up the cause of restoring in Indians a national pride, choosing the Tricolour as his symbol. As a result of his decade long struggle, the Hon'ble Supreme Court in a historic judgment on 23rd January 2004 held that the right to fly the National Flag freely, with respect and dignity is a Fundamental Right.
A keen sportsman, Mr. Jindal is an avid polo player. In November 2003, he captained his team, Jindal Steel & Power, to win the Indian Open, which is the highest level of polo played in India. He has also represented the country at various other national & international shooting competitions and is presently the National Champion and National Record holder in skeet shooting.
