Mr. K. Keshava Rao

Mr. K. Keshava Rao is a member of the Rajya Sabha from Andhra
Pradesh. He belongs to the Indian National Congress (INC).
Currently, he serves on several important parliamentary Committees
such as the Sub-Committee for Special Economic Zones of the
Standing Committee on Commerce, and the Consultative Committee
for the Ministry of External Affairs.
Previously, Mr. Rao served as the Cabinet Minister in three
consecutive Governments of Andhra Pradesh holding important
portfolios like Industry, Education and Labour respectively.
Between 1979 and 1980, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Andhra
Pradesh Legislative Council.
Mr. Rao has also been a Visiting Lecturer, in the Department
of Journalism, Osmania University; and a Resource Speaker,
(i) Administrative Staff College of India, (ii) National Police
Academy, (iii) Institute of Administration, Government of
Andhra Pradesh and other premier institutes. He has been invited
by universities and institutes abroad for extension lectures
too.
A Journalist, Teacher and Educationist by profession, Mr.
Rao did his M.A., Ph.D. from Badruk College, Arts College,
Osmania University, Hyderabad, respectively. He has written
several books, namely, New Deal to Education, and Social Philosophy
in Recent Indian Thought, and also published a number of articles
in newspapers and journals (both Indian and foreign). He is
the Editor of The Daily News, a premier English daily published
from Hyderabad. In 1979, Mr. Rao produced and wrote the screenplay
for the national Award winning feature film in Telugu, "Nimajjanam".
A widely traveled person, Mr. Rao is extremely fond of Cricket
