Smt. Krishna Tirath is a member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Karol Bagh, New Delhi. She belongs to the Indian National Congress.

Smt. Tirath has held several important positions in life. In the current Lok Sabha, she serves as Chairperson, Committee on Empowerment of Women; Member, General Purposes Committee; Member, Committee on Social Justice & Empowerment. A four-term member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, she has also served as Deputy Speaker; Minister of Social Welfare, SC & ST, and Labour & Employment, Government of Delhi; and Chairperson, Delhi Scheduled Castes Financial and Development Corporation (DSFDC).

Smt. Tirath did her MA, B.Ed from Delhi University. She is a political and a social worker by profession.

She is actively involved in social and cultural activities and has been the President of Bharat Nav Nirman Parishad, Karol Bagh and the Karol Bagh Jan Jagriti Parishad. She has a keen interest in sports and had captained her college volleyball team and the national women volleyball team in several competitions in and around Delhi.
