Mr. Singh is a member of the Lok Sabha from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh. He has served five terms in the Parliament remaining undefeated since the 10th Lok Sabha (1994). Prior to being elected to the Lok Sabha, he was a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1990 to 1994.

In his present capacity as a Member of Parliament, Mr. Singh is serving on Parliamentary Committees, such as, Committee on Estimates and Committee on Petroleum & Natural Gas. He has also served on several other important Parliamentary Committees, such as, Committee on Labour and Welfare; Consultative Committee, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy; Committee on Human Resource Development & its sub-committee on Drug Control; Consultative Committee, Ministry of Tourism and Committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Singh, educated at the St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, is an agriculturist by profession. He is involved in various social activities in his constituency and is associated with several NGOs for creating rural and fond of classical Indian music.

Mr. Singh's interests include protection of forests and wildlife and adventure tourism. He is also a keen sportsman with interest in squash and cricket.
