Mr. Prasada is a member of the Lok Sabha from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is presently serving as a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Information Technology.

Soon after joining active politics, Mr. Prasada became an active member of the Indian Youth Congress and was appointed its General Secretary in October 2002. In this capacity, he was in-charge of the youth organization of the states of Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Rajasthan and managed the assembly elections and the Congress campaign in Delhi. He also organized AIDS awareness programmes, campaigns against Drug abuse and blood donation camps.

Mr. Prasada also has varied corporate experience. He has worked in the Retail Banking division of the HDFC Bank, with the Private Banking Group of DSP-Merill Lynch and with the Channel and Alliance division of the BPL Net, an Internet Service Provider.

Mr. Prasada was educated at the prestigious Doon School, Dehradun. Thereafter, he graduated from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and did his Masters in Business Administration from International Management School, New Delhi.

Mr. Prasada interests include trekking and wildlife.
