Smt. Tejasvini Gowda is a member of the Lok Sabha from Doddaray,
Appanahally, Distt. Bangalore Rural in Karnataka.
Smt. Gowda serves on various Parliamentary Committees.
In 2004 she was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha and has subsequently
been Member, Committee on Rural Development, Member, Committee
on Empowerment of Women, Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry
of External Affairs; and Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry
of Urban Development.
By profession, she is a journalist and political & social
worker. She has travelled across Indian States to present
several papers at different seminars; and has studied and
written many stories on the cultural aspects of Indian States,
which symbolise unity in diversity. Smt Gowda has also done
a lot of research on the life of tribals in Chhattisgarh;
travelled to the dense Bastar forests and produced T.V. documentaries.
She has participated in many struggles to defend womens` rights.
Smt Gowda has done her M.A. in Political Science, and Ph.D
from Bangalore University. She completed her LLB from Vivekananda
Law College, Banglore in Karnataka.
A widely traveled person, Smt. Gowda has keen interest in
sports, music, movies, writing and reading. Her interests
also include producing valuable documentary on Political History;
interaction with youth.
