Mr. Singh, a graduate in English and Business Management
was educated at Mayo College and Government College, Ajmer
(Rajasthan) and at the Administrative Staff College, Hyderabad.
He is an agriculturist and a political and social worker by
profession.
Presently, Mr. Singh is serving as a Member of Parliament
(BJP), Lok Sabha, from Bhilwara, Rajasthan. He has also served
as a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, (1977-80,
1985-90 and 1993-99).
During his long political career, Mr. Singh has held several
important positions. He has served as Chairman, Committee
on Government Assurances (1993-98). He was the Cabinet Minister,
Irrigation, Rajasthan, in 1998, and since 1998, he is the
Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan. From 1999-2000,
Mr. Singh served as a Member, Committee on Energy and as a
Convenor of its Sub-Committee on Action Taken Report.
His interests are varied, ranging from Environment and Wild
Life photography to swimming. He is a Member, Wild Life Preservation
Board, Rajasthan for the last twenty years; Member, Steering
Committee, "Project Tiger". He is also a Member,
Delhi Golf Club and Delhi Gymkhana and is on the Board of
Governors of the prestigious Mayo College, Ajmer.
Mr. Singh, who has traveled extensively, was part of the
Indian delegation to Commonwealth Parliamentary Association,
Canada 1994.
