India-U.S. Forum of Parliamentarians (IUFP) while being actively engaged in creating a platform for interaction between the Indian Parliamentarians and U.S. Senators, Congressmen and opinion makers, began a “ Round Table Series” with the aim to provide a focused direction to the perspective of Indo-US interactions and charting out an effective role for the forum and facilitate bilateral engagements.

The inaugural session of IUFP Round Table was held on October 25, 2002, with the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Kanwal Sibal. The broad agenda of the meeting not only covered the entire gamut of Indo-U.S. relations, it also dwelt on contentious bilateral issues such as the sale of dual-use technologies and high technologies.

Apart from the Indian foreign secretary Mr. Kanwal Sibal, others present at the meeting included Members of Parliament, such as, Mr.Kapil Sibal, Mr. V.P.S. Badnore, Mr. C. Ramachandraiah, Mr. Rajeev Shukla, Mr. B.J. Panda, Mr. Nitish Sen Gupta, and Mr. Jayant Prasad, Joint Secretary (America Desk), MEA, among others.
